Zoe-perry
Perry is the child of Laurie Metcalf (actor) and Jeff Perry, a director. Her first television roles were two episodes as Jackie Harris (as seen in flashback) on The ABC sitcom Roseanne, the character portrayed by her mom. But her parents would not let her perform until she reached the age of adulthood because of the effects stress would have on their child. Perry was shy throughout high school and wasn't a good actor. Her first acting experience was at Northwestern University to gain friends after she was transferred from Boston University. Perry, after graduating from Boston University moved to New York in search of television roles. The actress was offered small roles in television shows, such as Law & Order: Criminal Intent. However, homesickness caused her to move to California for theater roles. Perry was a part of Broadway as a part of The Other Place with her mother in 2013. Perry was in the show with her father Kevin McKidd and Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize winning drama Anna Christie in the year 2015 at The Odyssey Theatre Ensemble, West Los Angeles. Perry was in nine episodes of The Family, an ABC drama The Family in 2016. In 2017, she had an recurring role in The ABC political thriller Scandal with her father. Also, she was cast on The CBS comedy The Big Bang Theory spin-off Young Sheldon as a version younger than Mary Cooper, Sheldon Cooper's mother. The role was given an audition to the actress, even though she has a family tie to the character.
